With over 80% of the world relying on Herbal Medicines as their primary source of medicine, the interest in supplying a clean source of herbal materials for medicinal use was a primary objective for ZipGrow in the 2021-2022 year. Some Ongoing research is being conducted around growing St. Johns Wort (Hypericum perforatum), Chamomile, Echinacea, Stevia, and Bergamot vertically both indoors an in a greenhouse environment. Many of these crops have thus-far been successful at growing in the ZipGrow system and are being analyzed through with assistance from the NRC (National Research Council) for their active ingredient content and quality
